It is a popular summit for demanding day treks and an excellent training hill for mountaineers in the capital. It forms part of San Ramón mountain range in the foothills of Santiago.
It offers an excellent panoramic view of the city of Santiago, the Andes Mountains, including peaks such as Cerro El Plomo.
Se puede observar fauna como vizcachas, zorros culpeos, Caranchos Cordilleranos, cóndores entre otras especias. Tiene gran variedad de vegetación esclerófila en la parte baja.
Technical Difficulty: Easy.
Physical Difficulty: High. Good physical condition is recommended for this activity.
Requirements: Health according to activity. In case of illnesses such as asthma, diabetes, or others, you should carry your doctor-prescribed medication with you.
Responsibilities:
- No actions that jeopardize the safety of the participant or other participants will be carried out.
- Participants in the activity should wear comfortable clothing suitable for the activity. We recommend trekking pants or comfortable pants, long socks, a quick-dry long-sleeved shirt, and a warm fleece jacket or similar.
- Do not consume alcohol or any narcotic drug before or during the activity.
- A medical form and risk acceptance letter must be completed.
Additional:
- Possibility of hiring a mountain porter.
- For groups of 6 people, there will be 2 mountain guides and 1 mountain assistant.
- Each guide carries a first aid kit, VHF radio, rope, harness, slings, tubular straps, carabiners, and more.
- You can go up and down the Macul ravine, which is technically a little easier since it's just walking, but the distance is greater, closer to 19.5 kilometers.
- Option to hire only the guide service.
