Trekking can be done all year round as long as weather conditions are favorable.

Visible from all parts of San José de Maipo to the west, you can see Morro la Isidora. Popular legend has it that Isidora was a woman of great beauty who was widowed when her beloved was murdered by a jealous cousin. She took her two children to live alone on the hill that now takes her name, in San José de Maipo. The children grew up, abandoned her to seek their fortune, and promised to return, but they never did. Isidora waited on the cliff every afternoon until she died of grief. Her soul remains on the hill, crying with a melancholic moan for the ingratitude of her children. The narrator sees in her a symbol of Mother Moon and universal feminine love. Part of the winter has snow on its slopes, which makes trekking a little more difficult than normal as you sink into the snow, resulting in greater physical exertion, but it also adds to its beauty. It is an ideal route for beginners to the world of trekking. On the way to the summit, we come across the Papagayo River and can see native and endemic flora and fauna such as Huilmo, Acetosella, Huilmo Blanco, Horizonte, Bollén, Colliguay, Espino, Boldo, Litre, Condors, and more. During the spring and summer seasons, we recommend bringing your swimsuit so you can enjoy the natural pools that form in the Papagayo River.
